And The Experiment Continues...

Posted on October 22, 2003 4:48 PM

You may have noticed that I've been making some changes to the layout/design/functionality of the site.

Some of the changes include:

Added a Recent Comments page so that you can find out which photos have been commented upon recently.

Turned the CouchCam back on and added a feature that lets you grab images to your own personal folder if you see something interesting on the cam. (Don't count on it.) You can see your saves by going to My Saves in the WebCam menu.

BTW, you can share your webcam saves page. All you have to do is send them the URL.

Speaking of images, you may want to check out the pictures taken at/before/after my fabulous wedding! Stay tuned for a recounting of that great day, but in the meantime check out the pictures as they show up. My good friend Jen has given me the OK to put her pictures up here as well.

Enjoy. Add/View Comments (1)

Say Hello To My Little Friend

If you're lucky you may catch the latest addition to our household on the CouchCam. His name is Pumpkin. He got his name because he is a long haired orange kitten.

Man, I Really Screwed Up

Posted on October 7, 2003 10:24 PM

For those of you getting emails saying you have successfully registered to this site...

Congratulations!

Unfortunately, you had most likely already registered at this site. I was making some changes to the registration system, and noticed that there were still a lot of test users in the database from when I initially wrote the registration part.

I decided to clean up a bit. To my dismay, right after I ran my sql I noticed that there was a NOT in the code where I did not want it. So essentially I deleted every row in the table EXCEPT the 2 rows I was trying to delete.

Suckorama.

Fortunately, I had a screen still up that had all the usernames and email addresses listed, so I was able to re-register everyone who was already registered.

Sorry for the inconvenience folks. Add/View Comments (5)

Halloween Parade in Mechanicsburg

Posted on October 7, 2003 3:46 PM

The Annual Mechanicsburg Halloween Parade is on Tuesday, October 14th this year. I'm not sure if that's the official name or not, but it's good enough for me.

They have a website:

Mechanicsburg Halloween Parade Association.

I know some friends of mine are trying to plan something, so I'm posting this as way for them to collaborate their thoughts. It might be funny to read what they have to say as well.

Enjoy,
Chris Add/View Comments (8)

Dangerous Times

Posted on October 6, 2003 4:32 PM

A friend of mine sent me the following email. He sent it to me because he knows how much I hate emails like this. While he sent it to me as a joke, I believe that the person who sent it to him was serious.

Typical urban legend folks:

If this is true, it's sick!

***********DANGEROUS PRANK:******************

Please read and forward to anyone you know who drives.
My name is Captain Abraham Sands of the Ontario Provincial Police Department. I have been asked by local authorities to write this email in order to get the word out to car drivers of a very dangerous prank that is occurring in numerous cities.

Some person or persons have been affixing hypodermic needles to the underside of gas pump handles. These needles appear to be infected with HIV positive blood. In the Simcoe area alone there have been 17 cases of people being stuck by these needles over the past five months.

We have verified reports of at least 12 others in various provinces around the country. It is believed that these may be copycat incidents due to someone reading about the crimes or seeing them reported on the television. At this point no one has been arrested and catching the perpetrator(s) has become our top priority.

Shockingly, of the 17 people who where stuck, eight have tested HIV positive and because of the nature of the disease, the others could test positive in a couple years.

Evidently the consumers go to fill their car with gas, and when picking up the pump handle get stuck with the infected needle.

IT IS IMPERATIVE TO CAREFULLY CHECK THE HANDLE of the gas pump each time you use one.

LOOK AT EVERY SURFACE YOUR HAND MAY TOUCH, INCLUDING UNDER THE HANDLE.

If you do find a needle affixed to one, immediately contact your local police department so they can collect the evidence.

***********PLEASE HELP US BY MAINTAINING A VIGILANCE AND BY FORWARDING THIS EMAIL TO ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO DRIVES. THE MORE PEOPLE WHO KNOW OF THIS THE BETTER PROTECTED WE CAN ALL BE.

5 Days and Counting

Posted on October 6, 2003 1:45 PM

Well, today is Monday and I have 5 full days left of bachelorhood.

This past weekend was a blast. My bachelor party took place Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland. Gene, Huy, Jason, my brother Chris T. and I were the first to arrive at the Tremont Plaza Hotel mere blocks away from the Inner Harbor. We got there around 2 or 3 pm. We drank some beers and played some poker. Of course none of us had change, so Chris T. went to the laundry room and came back with about 40 bucks worth of quarters. We played until the rest of the guys arrived: Blake, Ben, Dan, and Walt.

After everyone was settled in, the nine of us walked down to the Inner Harbor. We had dinner and drinks at a Tex-Mex restaurant overlooking the harbor. The food was good and the company was great. We managed to group 4 or 5 tables together to form a large banquet-type setting.

After dinner, we were off to the Have A Nice Day Cafe in the Power Plant Live! area of Inner Harbor. They have some kind of drink special there from 8pm to 10pm. I'm not sure what the deal is.... I didn't pay for anything the whole night thanks to this great group of guys.

At 10 P.M. or thereabouts, we left HaveANiceDay and went to the Baja Beach Club. For anyone that hasn't been to the Baja Beach Club, the main attraction are the hot chicks in bikini's serving cold bottled beer throughout the establishment. Stay tuned for photos...

At some point we left the Baja Beach Club and walked back to the hotel. Along our route back to the hotel, we passed some night clubs specializing in adult entertainment. That's right, strip bars! We passed quite a few and finally decided to take a look inside Club Chez Joey. Their website says they're the hottest club in Baltimore. I really hope that's not the case. After finishing (or not finishing) our first drink there, we decided that one Baltimore strip club was enough and went directly back to the hotel.

Back at the hotel we finished off the evening playing poker, smoking cigars, and watching movies.

When I woke up the next day, I didn't feel too bad. I was a little hungover and a little nauseous, but I managed to make the whole trip back home without stopping more than once.

I want to thank Ben, Blake, Chris T., Dan, Gene, Huy, Jason, and Walt for throwing me an excellent Bachelor Party, and I can't wait to celebrate my wedding with you guys next Saturday.

Remember, what happens in Baltimore, stays in Baltimore... Just kidding honey.

I want to give special thanks to Kelly, my sister-in-law, for all that she did to help set things up.
