How about them Cowboys!
Well the Eagles once again smoked the Cowboys, but it's no real surprise. The Philadelphia Eagles have a lot of scary talent on their team. Talent that can do amazing things, like tackle, and cover the pass, and block, and let's not forget, catch a punt return without turning the ball over.
Fricking Cowboys looked like the Keystone Kops out there. I turned off the TV about the time that V.T. threw a pass into the endzone, caught by an Eagles defender who brought the ball back 101 or so yards for a TD.
I have to give the Cowboys some credit, the offense stayed in the game mostly, but they were driving me out of my mind with all the turnovers, missed tackles, and sloppy pass coverage.
And what's up with that Eagles fumble that the officials missed? Also seemed to me that the officials were pretty stingy with the holding penalties this game. But I'm just bitter, probably.

Week #9 Results

Congratulations saboleyler for winning Week #9 of the football pool.
Going into Monday night there was a 5 way tie for first place. Indianapolis beat the Vikings 31-28, narrowing the field down to two players.
In the tie-breaker, maryjane had an astonishing 80 points, and saboleyler had 21, making saboleyler the winner for Week #9.
At the end of Week #9, yours truly is leading the pack but there are a number of people within striking distance. As the last half of the season plays out, I predict there will be more opportunity for upset.
In other news, How 'bout them Cowboys?
Hey Vinny, do you think you could throw a few more interceptions? You suck.

H6: Attack of the Ninjas

This weekend was the much anticipated 6th Annual Halloween Party hosted by Blake "Danger" Basom and his lovely bride, Jen.
The party was great! We got there at about 9pm and the costume judging went on at 10. I think it was a good idea to move the festivities from the basement, like it was in previous years, to the garage. I also think it was a good idea to have a costume contest this year. It seemed to me that more folks dressed up this year than in previous years.
The different categories for the contest were:
Best Couple
Most Original Costume
Best Group Costume
Scariest Costume
Lamest Costume
Funniest Costume
Overall Best
Best Couple
Possibly Sir Lancelot & Lady Guinevere? (Jamie and Jaclyn)
Most Original Costume
Electric Chair Jailbird (Ben B.)
Best Group Costume:
The Ducks (Dodgeball Team)
I was especially impressed that they did all the printing themselves on their "uniforms."
Scariest Costume:
A headless guy (Walt D.)
Lamest Costume:
He's the one on the left. (Brent B.)
Funniest Costume:
Nice udders. (Mandy D.)
Best Overall:
Ninja Assassins (Gene and Chris)
We won, despite the fact that the first person at the party that I pegged with one of my throwing stars was a judge. No hard feelings there.
One of the judges told me later that we won because we were always in character. And he didn't even see me when I was prowling around on the roof looking for the piece of my nunchuks that flew off while I was demonstrating in the driveway!
Later in the evening, things got ugly as beer pong took its toll:
Very ugly.
After we played what had to be the most complicated game of beer pong I've ever heard of, things wound down, and I went to bed.
Funny, seems to me I used to be able to party all night and not feel too bad the next day. But that's probably just my memory playing tricks on me. There's always this picture from three years ago to remind me:
