What's Happening?

Posted on May 27, 2004 10:21 AM

So much to do, so little time. I can go crazy sometimes thinking about all the little things I want to get done and knowing how little time I have to do them. I have a number of video type projects that I have to complete. How many hours are there in a week? I have video sitting on tapes that I've transferred from 8mm sources. I have video sitting on tapes and hard drives from a friend's video camera that I said I would put on DVD for her. She's probably forgotten that I even have that stuff. I haven't.

What the heck is my problem anyway? I wish I could blame it on XBOX but I haven't really played that much in the last few weeks... The reality is, you think you have more time than you do. You work all day, get home, decompress, and make yourself some dinner, maybe cut the grass, or do some cleaning around the house... all of a sudden, it's time to go to bed.

I don't know if anybody is still waiting to see more pictures from my wedding, but I've scanned quite a few of those. Still plenty more to scan! If only I could actually finish one thing, then maybe it would steamroll into finishing all these little things...

I have a box in my house that has photo albums that my grandmother had. I have another box that just has stacks of pictures in it. I really need that stopwatch from that movie "The Girl, The Gold Watch, and Everything" I remember that movie from when I was a kid. Basically the watch stops time for everybody except the guy holding it. I could use it to stop time, finish all these projects, then resume time and Voila! I'm all done.

I have a book on a shelf in my office called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Managing Your Time"

Now I just need to find an Idiot who has time to read the book and manage my time.

My friends Blake and Jen are getting married this weekend. I am one of the videographers. I don't think that they'll appreciate getting their wedding video on their anniversary. I'm going to need to dedicate some serious time to get that done for them. My wife will understand. :)

So, what's happening? Same old same old here. Have you seen that movie Dreamcatcher? That movie isn't too bad. Has a kind of Made For TV feel to it, except for the gory parts.

I just watched that movie Paycheck twice in one week. Not the movie with Mel Gibson. That movie is called Payback. That movie is cool. I like the badguy protagonist type of movie. But I digress. The movie Paycheck has Ben Affleck and I believe is guaranteed in stock at Blockbuster these days. The first time I watched it was by myself on a Friday night. I didn't think it was too bad. The second time was with Angela because she hadn't seen it yet. My point being I got a double dose of it, so during the second viewing I had to bite my tongue to stop myself from pointing out all the little flaws I saw in the story.

Overall the movie is not too horrible, but you'll see the flaws in the story if you're paying attention, or if you happen to watch it multiple times in a short period of time. In any case it wasn't nearly as bad as that movie Timeline. (No link, deliberate diss.) Stinkorama!

Well, that's all the rambling I have in me for now...
